Presented program on difficulties of researching families on the Trail of Tears. Southern Illinois Genealogical Society at Harrisburg library. October 18, 2014. Presented talk on Common Core Standards at Marion Women's Club on March 22, 2014.

Participated as an Illinois Trail of Tears Association board member in week-long training sponsored by Southern Illinois University Carbondale in Summer 2011 for  regional teachers who will be teaching with Library of Congress grant during school year 2011-12.

Taught third through six graders about the Trail of Tears during Stewardship Week 2010 and 2011 at the Illinois Forest Resource Center. 

Presented on "Trail of Tears" for Marion Woman's Club.  February 5, 2010

Presented  on "Priscilla on the Trail of Tears" at Lake Sallateeska for Nine Mile Baptist Church women at their retreat.  Saturday, November 7, 2009.

Presented on "Priscilla on the Trail of Tears" for Mascoutah Historical Society on November 1, 2009.  This is in conjunction with the Smithsonian exhibit "Journeys."

Served as docent for WSIU sponsored Trail of Tears bus tour through Union County and on over to the Trail of Tears State Park in Missouri on October 18, 2009.

Participated at Showcase sponsored by Illinois Humanities Council and Carbondale Arts on September 30, 2009.  Carbondale Civic Center.

Served as Union County guide for River to River bus tour of the Illinois Chapter of the National Trail of Tears Association.  June 2009.

Joined Joe Crabb and Van Burgess presenting on the Trail of Tears at St. Johns School in West Frankfort.  For kindergarten through eighth grade. April 2009.

Acted as step-on guide in April 2009 for Rend Lake College van tour of the Trail of Tears in Southern Illinois.  The group went from the Ohio River to the Mississippi River, and the tour ended at the Silkwood Inn in Mulkeytown, where Priscilla went to live after Mr. Silkwood arranged her freedom from slavery as she traveled with the Cherokee on the Trail of Tears.

Presented with Illinois Chapter Trail of Tears board members on the Trail  through Southern Illinois at Decatur on March 15, 2008, at  the Illinois State Historical Society Symposium.  I spoke on the Union County trail.
